Over 400 years of History
Steeped in local heritage, The Halt & Pull in Horley began life as The Chequers in 1537.
In 1795, the original foundation year of the building, it was first established as a coaching inn.
As a bustling coaching inn on the old London to Brighton route, it welcomed weary travellers and their horses, with as many as 20 coaches stopping here each day.
After a period of closure, it was lovingly restored and reopened as a modern gastropub in November 2021, blending its centuries-old charm with great food, warm service, and a relaxed atmosphere.
